Clams everywhere

A few months ago I saw what appeared to be a finger nail size thin shell attached to a rock. I now have clams of all sizes all over the tank. I believe they came with some caulerpa but could they be mutiplying? Should I just leave them alone?

Very interesting! I added a decent sized rock a few months ago with some blue 'shrooms on it. A few weeks after I added it I saw some movement on the top/back side. Come to find out it is the same type clam you've got. I've never been concerned about it and I have heard about reefkeepers getting them from time to time as hitchhikers. You may want to post this over in the reef forum. Bang guy may be able to help ID them. He is the resident bug/critter/hitchhiker expert. Mine hasn't posed any problems and seems harmless so I've just let him be.

Looks like some type of Green Mussel to me. They filter the water for single celled algae like diatoms, etc. They should be able to keep your water quite clean and they're harmless unless they start to die off.
pretty cool. I doubt they could multiply in your tank so they're probably all hitchhikers.
