Do clams gain more colors or patterns as they get older? There was a small 1"-1.5" clam at the LFS that was blue with only a few colorful streaks in it. Would be very ebautiful if it had more streaks also how much should a little 1.5" one cost?

I don;t know what type it is, I didn't ask. Does it matter if they will continue to get color on the species?

The majority of the time, yes. It is partially based on that and partially based on lighting, then partially based on water conditions. There are several of things that play into a clams coloration.
