Clams?????

Why do more people not have them... They are so beautiful and would give a lot of color to any tank...
Is it because of the intense lighting required.... Would it harm the other life in the tank (i.e. Corals, fish?)

The lighting requirements are probably the main reason but they also require prestine water quality..

Yes I agree, I think the beauty of some nice clams set off the complete reef tank. I have several in my 180 SPS/clam tank.
Clam do require intense lighting for good growth, color and health. Easy to keep though as they are filter feeders.
