clams

just noticed that swf.com is selling clams but all the pictures are the same is this related to the grade what is ultra grade 1st grade etc. what does that mean

Ultra grade is most vibrant colored, 1 st grade lesser,

They grade clams by the amount of blue or electric blue/green color in the mantle. A clam with more than 80% of its mantle covered in these colors is considered Ultra. Less than 80%, but more than 50% is considered 1st grade.

Then they graduate high school and strike out on their own - to become adult clams .... oh wait - one too many graduations this year ....
