Clean-up crew for a non-reef tank

I'm thinking of starting a saltwater tank in the near future. I think I'm going to have to place my tank in a spot of the house it may be exposed to sunlight during the evening. Because of this, I'm worried about algae.
I'm thinking of a damsels-only tank -- and they may eat some algae -- but what other critters can help my tank?
(I'm also thinking about converting this tank into a reef tank later down the road.)

First off, what size tank do u have. The sunlight will increase algae growth. Some turbo snails will help alot with the algae problem. BTW... WELCOME to swf.com!!
