I have a 55g FOWLR with a CC substrate that has almost completed cyclying. Nitrites are beginning to drop so I figure another week or so till its' done. I'm getting some hair and diatom algae on the rocks and the glass and am looking for advice on cleanup critters. I'd prefer for snails that can right themsleves and am not anti-claw. My fish plan does not include any species that will condider these animals food except for the possiblity of a Valentini Puffer. All advice is appreciated as always! Thanks in advance.

trochus snails and nassarius snails, the trochus are algae eaters and the nassarius are detritus eaters

My turbos never get a chance to right themselves! I'm not anti-claw but I don't use hermits in aggregations as I have seen recommended on numerous websites. I prefer to use utility fishes like lawnmower blennies and the like. Which brings me to my question, in one of my 55g reefs I have a golden-head sleeper goby that is about 1.5 in. long, these fish feed on fauna in the sand bed, and can always be seen sifting through the sand looking for tasty little morsels, but upon close observation my golden-head sleeper goby sifts through the sand, when it comes across a pod or something, instead of eating it it spits them out! They seem stunned too, they just lie for a minute then scamper away! What the hell is wrong with this fish? <img src="graemlins//confused.gif" border="0" alt="[confused]" />
