for 44g I would suggest
10 Bluelegs or 10 Scarlets or go 5 and 5.
Bluelegs = $1.00each, Scarlets are around $3.00each
Turbo/Astrea Snails $2-$3, U probably want 5 of them at least.
If your sand bed is at least 2-3 inches deep u could get a cleaner clam for $4-$5. That will lower nitrates.
So Right there your looking at $20-$40
IMO if u dont have the cash switch to freshwater.
