What is the best clean-up crew to have to keep brown algee off the glass of my tank? That is the only place that keeps getting algee, I scrub it off once a week? Any help?
Thank you,
Jason

Mag float will clean your glass. In my 29 I have 5 astraea snails, 10 hermits, and 10 nassarius snails. Depending on how much food you have in your tank will determine the amount of snails/hermits you can keep. I starved 10 astraea snails to death b/c I don't have any algae.

If it is brown algea it is probably diatoms and will go away as your tank becomes more established. I would feed less and purchase 2 or 3 astrea and 3 or 4 nassarius snails. If you have a lot of hermit crabs i would not get any astraea and just stick with nassarius snails. Hermits tend to kill off astraea to steal their snails - had this happen to four of mine. I have a 30 gallon tank as well and i have no algea problems at all - and i have 2 nassarius and only 1 astrea. I've had my outbreaks, but they've passed.

Your best bet is to get a mixture of
Nerite Snails
Cerith Snails
Turban Snails
