Cleaner Crew

"Janitor pacakages are overdone, IMO. Fact is, you don't see high concentrations of hermit crabs on reefs"
Well, true... but you do see a whole lot of tangs and other algae eaters. A clean up crew has to be "overdone" in an aquarium to compensate for the lighter bio-load of algae eating fish in our tanks.

I was curious about the 1 per gallon cleaner rule....I can't imagine there being enough food in a 30 gallon tank to support 15 hermits, 10 snails and 5 shrimp....Maybe in the beginning when the rock has some die off (after cycling of course) but then I guess you could feed them if they needed it. I'm at the end of my cycle, I got 4 blue legs to start cleaning and they have made noticable progress. Friday I'll get 10 more and thats it until I'm sure the tank can support more

I have a 55 as the thing on the left shows you.
I have
60 nassarius snails
2 mexican turbo snails
3 Astrea snails "all thats left the fall and die really easy"
10 blue leg hermits
1 sally lightfoot "there are 3 but 2 of them are either dead or hiding"
3 peppermint shrimp
2 procelain crabs "see them every now and then"
1 arrow crab
2 feather dusters
1 serpent star
I had a flame scallop but it died the day after I got it "something was wrong it with it"
My tank is good enough for my inverts to molt grow and even reproduce "my shrimp have little ones dont know if they will make it but something is right for them to breed"
