My cleaner ship has a small black mark in the middle of his body. Should I be worried? Is she pregnant?

Black spots typically disappear with next molting. Cleaner shrimp eggs I've seen are usually green masses under female's abdomen.

Uncle feaster, this has nothing to do with this Q, but... MY shrimp both(i have 2 Male, female) have green eggs under there abdomon. it goes away after next molting, but will i be seeing little baby shrimp? im very curious.

Strange. I typically only saw them under what I was assuming to be the female. Could be wrong, dunno. Baby shrimp? Doubtful in a tankful of corals. Treat for the inverts. There are breeding FAQ's out there if you wanted to try breeding.

I dont think i am ready for breeding yet! when i got them from the lfs the gal there said they were a mated pair! i've never seen a mated pair. but the smaller one(i think the female) had little green things where her abdomon was. they went away after she molted. then i noticed that the male had some of this...or maby that was the female. HOW DO YA TELL?

you'd think mine were bunnies they are always carrying eggs.. but yeah the black mark should dissappear with the next molting but if not keep an eye on it .. cleaner shrimp are very hardy and you shouldn't have a problem with him..eggs like said before may hatch but never live too many thngs in a tank that eats little animals.. good luck..

If interested in breeding any saltwater species. here's a good jumping off point: http://www.breeders-registry.gen.ca.us/species.htm#L
