I just bought a cleaner shrimp today and i though it looked alittle different and the lady at the lfs said it was female. i noticed when i got it under my tank lights that it has hundreds of tiny eggs attached to legs. should i go through the trouble off separated it and hatching its eggs. if i leave it alone the other fish will eat the eggs. should i just not worry about it?? this is exciting!

The fry of the cleaner shrimp are really hard to raise. Even if you do seperate the shrimp into a seperate tank the mom will start to eat the babies as they are being born. But I've read that you can raise them to become adults. And if you wanted to raise them you would have to put a spongy bottom on the seperate tank. She will usually have her babies a couple of hours after the lights go out. And the fry will swim to the first sorce of light that they see. And you should only feed them 1 DAY old brine shrimp.

At least its not a bad hitchhiker..i donno i called the lfs and asked about it.. they didnt seem very interested.. maby ill just give them away if i cant sell them. i dont think ill be able to separate the srimp without a net or something i have a purple pseudo thats getting alittle to curious.. he can slip through the tiniest holes too. i would have to get a really fine net.. and what if they die anyway.. how long does it take them to get old enough to survive on their own?? i have an urchin too wil he eat the eggs?? t

that purple pseudo is also picking on my yellow watchman goby.. the goby is missing a few chunks out of its fins.. i think its gonna die.. should i take the goby out and give him away or something.. should i take out the purple psuedo?? the goby doesnt make much of an effort to hid or defend itself

She produced eggs about once a month or so and kept them under her tail for a day or so then start snackin' away on them.

It will take a little more than a month ( about 40 days more or less ) before they are considered big enough to survive on their own. And what ever can catch them will eat them. Including:
Filter feeders
Fish
Invertabrates

30 gal fowlr for now..
livstock listed in order added to the tank
2 zebra snails. dying
1 hermit crab havent seen him for days
1 yellow watchman goby
1 lawn mower blenny
1 rosey sea urchin
1 purple pseudo
1 feather duster
1 cleaner shrimp
my first fish were damsel but the died right away.. then i lost a hermit crab.. then a cleaner.. and i think my snails are dying. i just replace the cleaner shrimp today and added the feahter duster. i rearanged the rocks so the goby would have a better place to hid and it seems to be working. the goby is actually defending itself.
