Cleaner Shrimp in Pairs

I'd like to have a pair of cleaners in my 55gal. I have one in there now and would like to add another. ANy problems with the second one being attacked?? Not by the fish thats another story.Also is there a way to tell the --- of a shrimp? I'd like have a mated pair if possible.

i have seen numerous times that cleaners were in groups at different lfs and all looked good. i do not know though how to tell the --- of a shrimp.

Hey,
Cleaners like being kept in pairs, or even small groups. Without looking it up, I believe shrimp are hermaphodites, so any pair can breed.

Cool, maybe the one i have now wont hide so much. He only comes out after the lights are out. Thanks for the help

Salty, I had just one shrimp and mine din't come out until night like yours. when I added another they both came out and are now constantly visible. I have heard if you have a small lighter colored shrimp it is a male and the larger darker colored ones are females.
