have 3 now with 2 more on the way. One is eatting my healthy, fully extended flowerpot and not stopping even i fed him many times a week. it's the first time it ever occur to me, cleaner actually picking on a "healthy" coral.

At night my cleaner crawls all over everything and it does not seem to bother any of it.
I just figured he is doing his job -- cleaning!! :)

mine hasnt touched my corals that i know of, but i only had him for bout 2 weeks or so

I also did not think my cleaner did anything.
I didn't even see him clean my fish until I got moonlights. I now see him cruise all over the tank.

Do feed your flower pot dirctly with brine shrimp? I did this a few times and my cleaner would go into the flower pot and pick the shrimp out of the polyps, the polyps would quickly retract so i quit feeding brine directly. Now i just feed it phytoplankton directly. As you know, flower pots are touchy at best, it will probably be annoyed with pesky cleaner shrimp always in its polyps. You my want to concider returning the shrimp if it continues such behavior. HTH

I have a clener shrimp, and it does the same thing to my flowerpot. Before that it was eating zenia, I think it's time for him to go somewhere else <img src="graemlins//mischievous.gif" border="0" alt="[Mischievous]" /> But I can't seem to catch it. I haven't seen the flowerpot open fully in days. One of them has to go, and I don't want it to be my beautiful coral.
Just thought I'd let you know you're not the only one.

thanks, i feed only DTS to my corals. as of today, that particular shrimp ate about an area of a quarter. I understand if cleaner shrimp is cleanning an unhealthy coral, but this flowerpot is beautiful and exotic to look at :D i bought this coral knowing its life expectancy in my tank will be a year or less, but with the way this shrimp is eatting it........sigh.

I've seen my cleaner dig into my yellow polyps the other day when i fed my fish!! crazy little sucker!! also, he was digging into the mat of my green stars the othe day. i couldn't figure out what he was doing at first, but then, like after 5 minutes of digging, he pulled out a huge bristle worm!!! man did he tear that thing apart!! i suppose they like bristle worms too! i learn somthing new every day!! :D

My cleaner massages my fish and some times sits on my polups. But can say that I have seen him do anything destructive. I would smashed him by now if he did.
