Cleaner Shrimp Tolerate Copper?

I purchased a regal blue tang that is in quarantine and has developed ick. I have lowered the salinity and am treating with copper, but after much reading, I think it was not a good idea to add copper, so I will slowly do water changes to titrate it away. In the meantime, I thought it would be good to add a cleaner shrimp to the quarantine. Do you think I can do this after making a few water changes? Thanks

I'm not sure on the copper, but I don't think an invert will survive hyposalinity.
Hopefully someone really smart will chime in!!!

The invert will not survive either the copper or low salt level. I would not recommend adding the shrimp.
What kind of copper did you use (what brand)?

Copper can leach into rocks, sand, and decor and then be realesed slowly over time so i wouldn't add a cleaner shrimp but if i were you i'd add a neon cleaner goby.

Thanks for the input.
I used CopperSafe by Mardel Labs. I know--probably should have used SeaChem, but it's all I had. I think I'll monitor for now and hope it clears up.

Yep, do not add anything to the tank with the hippo. Just keep the salt at 1.009 and try to remove all the copper through water changes.
