Cleaner shrimp with black spots??

just got home and noticed that my cleaner shrimp has a lot of black spots all over his sides. the last cleaner shrimp i bought had two black spots. This one didnt have any when i bought it a week ago. what are these spots and what causes this?? he is also curling up and trying to clean himself.. is he molting?

Black spots that do not disappear after a molt could be a fungus which is probably untreatable.

I dont know if its the same or not, but my cleaner shrimp had some black spots on his sides day before yesterday. Then yesterday when i got home from work, he was back to normal with no black at all. Dont give up on him yet.

Mine gets black spots on his sides a couple of days before he molts. After the molt the spots are gone. Mine also rolls up and piucks at himself before a molt. I think he's jost loosening himself from his shell.

Yeah, don't give up on him. If the spots disappear after he molts then it's fine.
