Yes they will but don't get one in the hopes of getting rid of ich. Also the fish has to allow the shrimp to clean and the shrimp has to be willing to clean.

I would get one regardless....they are fun!! But don't count on it as a solution for ich.....
I have 2 in my 72 gal....and I laugh my rear end off watching them trying to steal food from my BTA.

i had one and my powder blue tang got ich, it started spreading
the cleaner did its thing it took about 3 weeks for him to start cleaning the fish. so i decide to get 2 more because it was keeping the ich down. put the two newer ones in and after the first night there was only a tail of one and the other was being stalked by the big cleaner. low and behold the second new one disappeared and a after that the big one stopped cleaning and eating and then vanished too. ive now read and maybe seen them as cannibals

Thx you guys i was going to get one anyway but, i was going to get a Blue tang with him so i thought that IF the tang got ich the cleaner shrimp would take care of it. Does that sound right? I just wanted to know just in case so that i wouldn't need to use copper.

yeah before my cleaner shrimp died my powder blue did, it helped with the ich the cleaner did, but thats it. when he stopped cleanin it was hell on the fish. im going to stay away from tangs unless i have a huge(1000G) aquarium and every cleaning equiptment out there. you should really start talking with some of these tang people they have tons more experience than me, and mine isnt good, im stick to easy maintence hardy fish.
