cleaner shrimp

I have a coral banded shrimp in my tank right now. Currently treating a blue hippo in a QT tank for ich. From reading the posts on here, sounds like a good idea to get a cleaner shrimp. Can a cleaner shrimp go in with a coral banded shrimp. My banded shrimp doesn't seem to be aggressive. Doesn't bother the fish in the tank unless they get right next to them, and even then doesn't do a whole lot other then swipe at them.

IMO, a CBS will get more aggressive with age. Once they get big enough, they will catch and kill whatever they can. Including small fish and other shrimps....
But hey, thats life on a reef....Cleaner shrimps only live about 2 years anyway so if you want them, try them...

They only live 2 years, that is interesting. Would that apply also for a coral banded shrimp?

Actually, I'm curios about this too. After posting this thread, Ifound my shrimp dead. Have had for 11months, and this suddenly happened. Had just molted-wondering if smethind hurt it before its new shell hardened. Super bummed!

My CBS was pretty aggressive. He would go after my strawberry pseudochromis often if he got too close, especially when it was feeding time.
If you have a decent size tank and a larger cleaner, it may be OK - but I thought I've read in the past on here, not to mix them.

My cleaner shrimp just died as well. Molted then found him dead in the tank a day to a day and half later. No reason why either. Go figure.

I have a cleaner and CBS in my 33 long for over a year now. Coral banded is sweet! A little mean, he chases my cleaner but can't catch him at all, pretty funny to watch.

From my experience, it depends on the CBS. Some are really aggressive, others not so much. Personally, I wouldn't risk it, but if your CBS is pretty tame, adding a larger cleaner might be OK.
