They will clean some of the Ick off the fish. If the fish will let them. They don't prevent it just help relive the fish some.

You are probably gonna have all small fish, so I think it's less likely. The fish has to be willing.

My cleaner used to clean my diamond goby all the time. My clowns won't let him, but he'd really like to. He's always trying to sweet talk them into it

my dwarf angels and fairy wrasses have always let him clean them. the angel even carries him around the tank then takes him back to his rock to drop him off. only the bigger of my 2 clowns let him clean. i think that's the only fish he's ever worked on. like the other guys said, he could help if they have it, but that's totally up to the fish.
