There has been alot of disscusion about these little guys on this BB,and the Outcome has almost always been the same,They dont live long in captivity. Thier main food source is parasites they pick off of your other fish. Thet do eat some brine shrimp and flakes, but not enough to sustain them.If you can I would take him back.He will surly slowly starve to death. STEVE

They can definately be kept successfully. I have had mine for a year and he is healthy and fat. He eats everything which I think he learned from watching other fish eat. Before him I kept one for over a year and a half until he jumped out. You have to by one that is good sized say over two and a half inches, one that is very active with fins not clamped, good color and EATS AT YOUR LFS BEFORE YOU BUY IT.
