I am getting a couple of tanks that are used. 100 and a 125. I dont know what has been used in them, but is there a fail safe way to clean the tank of anything harmful before I set them up? Any help would be great!

IF there was any copper treatments, will this clean out any traces of the copper?

Bleach.......No kidding bleach water will sanitize and clean the old tanks,...Just rinse really well and allow to dry, then if you smell any bleach left, rinse again. I've done it before on my old 55 gallon that I used tons of copper on, set it back up as a reef tank and didn't lose any inverts due to copper staying in the system. Least no copper was dectectable.
