Cleaning Copper out of a tank... HELP

Well,
I purchased some aquarium silicone at the LFS today. I will be taking the old silicone out of the tank, and putting the new silicone finally.
My question now is the glass and rest of equipment:
I've seen various discussions on cleaning a tank and equipment with vinegar. How does one do that exactly? Just pour some vinegar on a towel? or directly in the tank?
HOw would I go about cleaning the Emperor 400 with vinegar?
Thanks...

Cu can't seep into glass, and I've never heard of it seeping into plastic. But it could be in the mineral build up in your pumps and equipment and vineger would remove this build up. I clean my pumps, viles, salinity guage, etc.. by puoring vineger in the sink and putting them in to soak for awhile. I would remove the smaller parts from the emperor and soak it with the other equipment and then fill it with vinager aswell. You could use vinager to wipe out the inside of the tank if your worried any build up on the glass may contain Cu. Good Luck
