Went to LFS and got a Cleaning Crew today. Composed of 25 turbo Snails, 25 Snails that burrow in the sand Cant remember what they are called. 12 Very Small Hermits, 2 peppermint Shrimp, 1 Sally Crab and 1 emerald Crab (gives me 2 sallys now). Everyone seems to be doing well so far. Hermits are going to town on the rock and the snails just took right off. Do I have to worry about any of these guys Jumping ship? I have a glass hinged cover on tank. whats eggcrate? to me it is the foamy soft stuff that we put on patients beds to relieve pressure on their skin to decrease chance of pressure ulcers.
I took a Water Sample to LFS and They said that my water Parameters are really good especially for a newer tank. Salinity per refractometer was 1.020, No ammonia, No Nitrites, 10 Nitrates, alkalinity is good.
I also got a blue Jeweled Puffer. Beautiful Guy. Very Cute and very shiny blue stripes. BF wanted to know if I was happy that I got a new fish. told him lets see in a few days.
Nice cap to a day that started horribly. Got up at 3 am and went to Walmart to get Laptop that was on sale. Got into store right at 5 am when it opened after standing in line for an hour in 18 degree weather. Ask where the laptops were and they said they are all gone we only had 10. I was out of the store by 5:04 am. I think they either did not get any in or just the employees got them. Oh Well. Hope everyones thanksgiving went well.

Your specific gravity is way too low. You need to bump it up to 1.026 or all those inverts you just bought aren't going to last very long. That puffer will probably eat your snails and hermits.

The white grid is eggcrate.

actually, sg is close to what LFS has all their tanks at. What is good SG? I was at 1.027 via my hydrometer was told it was too high, did 5 gallon switch out (took out SW and added fresh) Went to 1.025 via Hydrometer. Told this was still too high. did another 5 gallong switch (each was a week apart). My SG was then 1.024 via hydrometer. when I took Sample to LFS they tested with Refractometer and said that it was 1.020. same one I got 1.024 with. Said that it was great SG and Close to that the run their tanks on.
I got my first sally 1 week or 1.5 weeks ago and has been doing great so far. Maybe I need new Testing Equip?
thanks for pic of egg crate

Get a refractometer and keep your salinity at 35 ppm (1.026 SG). Fish stores keep their tanks too low most times, hoping to keep ich out of their system. They don't care that it is too low for inverts because they sell them before they die.
