I'm having a bubble algae problem on 1 LR. If I take it out to clean it can I do iit in RO water only while I'm cleaning it?
I have some polyps on the rock...will this hut them?
What's the best way to get the bubble algae off?
Thanks for any info. :D

No clean LR! How bad is it? I have bubble algae too and don't really worry that much about it. A lot of time, whole colonies can just be lifted off.

yes dont wash the rock. if you pop ine of the then you will release all the spores and you will have a rock full of them. i have one bubble in my tank and i wont mess with it. even though its killing me to take it out. just wait and take the whole colony out when it gets big. also try an emerald crab they are suposed to eat them but mine doesnt so take it from that.

Thanks for the replies but it's to late. I removed the rock Saturday and brushed it in a container of saltwater from my tank. The bubble algae was just about covering the whole rock and was spreading. I used a nylon brush and was gentle as possible because there's some polyps growing on it.
After brushing and pulling, I rinsed the rock with clean saltwater from the tank. It looks like I got most of it and some of the polyps have started to open again. Do you think they'll make it?
I've been trying to get Emerald crabs but because of the hurricanes the LFS haven't been receiving orders yet.
I'm going to check again this week.
Thanks :D
