You might want to be alittle more specific in what you call "cleaning the tank". What size do you have, how long has it been up and whats the inhabitants. You might get better responses to your question IMO.

im talking about cleaning the poop up and stuff, and i know but the lfs and i book i read told me i can add crab after 24 hr, but i know now.

Do you have water movement in the tank yet? You need to keep the water moving with no dead spots. Your filter will pick up the big stuff. Also, get a skimmer...they clean the smaller impurities in the water.

I don't think UV's are needed. I think they are a joke but that is just me. Some people use them and love them. Other than that...I don't know how well that skilter works so I can't suggest anything there. Lights need be upgraded if you want to house corals. Heater. Thermometer. Test kits as stated before (Salifert are nice). Thats about it for starters.
