I'm looking at purchasing the "Big 20 Bonus Pack" package for my 55gal tank. Maybe this will help my hair algae problem. Can anyone tell me if these crabs are lively and decently sized?
--thanks--

Wassup DAWG?-Hair algae? Hmmmm, it's hit or miss if your cleanup crew is going to mow it down. If it's too abundant they won't touch it. It's best to just take out whatever it is and scrub it off. Could be tough if it's on rocks way underneath other rocks but that's the best way. But you should definitely get the cleanup crew.

Ive added 2 crews from here and all the critters were good size and ready to work.....they keep all the ugly stuff at bay....never had a large amount of hair algae but try the crew first then maybe a lil manual labor to remove what they fail to take care of....may want to track source of excess algae also.....using ro/di water?
phosphate levels..lighting????? got to be a reason for the excess....myself I'd look at the source real close then solve that along with a good clean-up crew

Thanks for the info. I'm sure my problem is coming from my use of tap water straight from the sink  . My equipment is not of the proper caliber either. I have a skilter filter, 2 powerheads, and (4) 40 watt bulbs.
It's amazing how everything takes money! My fish and anemones have faired well in this environment for about 10 months now, but I think I need to do some upgrading before getting into corals. True dat??? Again... thanks for the comments.

You should think about purchasing a lawnmower blenny. I bought one a few weeks ago, and a few days later, my tank was noticeably cleaner.
