Clear coat paint?

Hey folks, I have a little plastic model of some sushi from a restaurant that would look cute in my tank (55- fish and rock only). Does anyone know if it would harm my water as is, or should I spray it with something that is clear (like a clear coat paint).... and if so, does such a product exist?
The model is simple colored plastic....

Im not sure if plastic is okay to add...but I would say adding a clear coat to it and then putting it in the tank would be a bad idea. I could be wrong though. I just think some how the clear coat wouldnt hold up for long.

Ornaments that go in fish tanks are made of plastic where the pastic is specially treated. I wouldn't put anything in my tank that wasn't designed to go in the tank.

Not to mention that it won't stay pretty for long. It will need to be frequently cleaned, and over time may just not quite look as good as you anticipate.
