HI, Im new to saltwaterfish.com and somewhat new to the hobby itself. I have a 190 gal tank. Im getting it up and going slowly. I have a few fish and a few corals in it. So far So good

My question???? My brother just gave me a about 4 of his frogs and hammers. These corals used to be Big, Colorful, and very healthy.... he had them bout 4 months. Then summer came and he lost interest. Just did enough to keep the tank going, but not much extra. These poor corals lost some heads, lost thier size, and most of all lost thier color??? We havent figured out what happened, but well, now the question is
Now that I have these corals and Im giving them all the good nutrients and light and all they need, Will they come back?? Will they stay this way??? or are they just going to dye??? I know photos are needed... I will add some very soon. I am just not home this min. I was just wondering if this was something that one of you had went through before?????

thanks

Hey fellow Michigander.
to SWF!!
Have not had the problem you are talking about but Euphyllia are fairly hardy and yours should bounce back with the correct water light and flow. Do post some pictures so we can see what is going on though.

Wow! Those are seriously bleached. Try feeding them every other day with some meaty food and make sure they are getting good lighting.

Hi,
They are getting pretty good light, Do I need to give them more light than normal?? I had one higher in the tank and i totally lost it, These seem to be doing good. also what do you mean by meaty foods??? do I spot feed each head?? I put cyclopseaze and brine shrimp in the tank do you think that is enough... there are only 2 clowns in there for now...

What type of lighting are you running?
As for meaty foods, mysis shrimp works great. Thaw some out and use a turkey baster to target feed them.
