Closed loop design?

This is pissing me off...my original thought was to have a few different outlets to provide some flow to different areas and the squares also were the rock supporting structure for me. So i think I am going to give up and just shoot right out of the bottom into the tank, with one piece of loc line aimed down into the rock support structure to clear things out of that inaccesible area...done. what do you think?

Any chance you guys have a general diagram of how a closed loop looks? Can I still run a CLS with two overflows in the corners? (no other holes drilled in the 180g tank)

stimpy.. go back and read what is aid again about just ditchign the squares and comign out with two or evan r hole per side , you will get MUCH better flow like this, no restriction and you can throw eductors on there as well..
your only problem might be you will have TOO much flow blowing around!!

you can run a cloose loop with no holes drilled ata ll,, just draw water over the top and return over the top , overflows dont matter ata ll, it has nothignt o do with them

I was trying to mock the system from oregonreef.com But that did not seem to work very well in the end without super pumps...i think I am good now...

So here it is, I redid the manifold it is now all 1.5" and there are four 1" spa flex leading from it, two to the back and two to the front straight up through bulkhead into a 1.5" t one side open to the tank the other side is to attach a .75 loc line to spray underneath the rock support structure since I can not clean that area. Preliminary results certainly feel like a lot more, but certainly not so much I couldn't cover the opening with my hand or something. But certainly feels more than the three before...

If you couldn't cover it with your hand it would be way to much IMO.......Stimpy I don't think you'll get raw force with the Dart.......

Can I join this CL discussion? .....and Hijack it with my own question .....I just got a used 90g tank drilled for a closed loop... sounds good.
The problem is that it has only a 3/4" drain hole and two 1/2" returns. I know these are small holes. Could I use a Gen-X PCX-30 (825gph) pump on this?

Thats fine, the inlet is the same size as your drain hole. You may even consider using 1" pipe with 3/4" fittings on the drain and the same with 1/2" fittings on the returns...just a suggestions...the large the pipe the less friction reduction. However, depending on the type of tank you are looking to run, keep in mind you will only be getting less than 10x turnover from the CL system.
