Cloudy eye'd porcupine puffer...

He's eating, but has cloudy almost "cracked glass" looking eyes.
Would much like to treat him, I have formalin, is that safe to use for puffers or necessary?

Is he new? Formalin is for parasites, it wouldn't treat cloud eye. Is he in the display or a QT? What exactly is he eating? What are the water readings?

he IS new, nitrite 0 nitrate 30 ammonia 0
He is in the display tank, my qt is currently occupied for fish for another tank that are currently sick. This has happened before.
He is eating feeder fish. (thats how I start my puffers/lions eating)

If he is new then I wouldn't be overly concerned. Fish get clouded or popped eyes from it being scraped on the net at the LFS. Keep an eye on it. When you switch him over to frozen, hopefully sooner than later, you can add Zoecon or Selcon to his food to help it along.

Use frozen krill, silversides, squid, scallops, anything like that. Use a thin feeding stick or kabob skewer. If they are scared of that then get the food to hit the current of the power head. For the puffer you can just break open a clam from the grocery store and he will eat it.
