cloudy tank

we just started a new 55 gal tank and we washed the sand and everything just as when we set up our other tanks but when we filled with water it got super cloudy have never had this happen before and we have set up 5 different tanks any ideas ?????

mine was the same way at first, cloudy as all hell, it actually took several weeks to all settle down and be totally clear, i was told it was the crushed coral causing it, with the filter running and the skimmer, it finally helped

ok thanks just never had this happen with any of the other tanks we have done so it was kind of a freak out
