how old is the tank
what are your water parametes(all of htem)
what is in your tank(fish inverts and algae or plantlike growth)
what does this cloudiness look like, any color, like particles, or just hazey white?
and what arre you using for filtration, and do you have lr
and wht substrate do you have
and did you recently loose anything(like fish or crabs or shrimp)??
these questions may help to narrow things down a lot, and maybe we can better help

i've noticed my tank has been fairly cloudy as well. I've thought about adding another substrate material to my fluval since i do have 1 empty level in it but i'm not sure what if anything i should put in it.
I have a CC bed, 1 powerhead in corner, fluval 404, and LR basically wrapped around the whole backside, in my 54 gallon. As a cleaning crew there are also 2 feather dusters, 10 hermits, 10 snails, 1 mexican snail, 1 queen conch, brittle star, cleaner shrimp. i would like to tell you my level but don't have test kit anymore.
I did have a berlin protein skimmer, but after 2 weeks of continued use (with me adjusting it every day to see if different places / level in tank would work) i took it back becasue it never seemed to work right. I forget the pump i used but it seems like it was a 3000(which on retrospect was underated).

first, i would worry about getting another test kit, this could be part of you problem ,and another filter(may or maynot help) will not fix the problem , if it does anythign, it would hide a problem you are having, test parameters are very important in solving cloudiness issues, especially if there is something wrong with the water, seachem makes a relatively inexpensive master kit for sw(can't remember what they call it) and supposedly it is easy ot use and read, i would get one and go from there
and 3000, sounds like a rio pump(nto very good in my book)
also, same question appplies, is the any color to the cloudiness or anthign that may help with a better description(look like loose particles, or just hazey or anything like that)

Do you have a UV Sterilizer. I have had a tank for over a year and never had cloudy water. One day my tank got very cloudy, white in color. At the time I didn't have a UV Sterilizer. The lfs told me it could be a baterial bloom since all my water levels were good. I bought the UV and sure enough overnight the water was crystal clear again. Best investment I ever make.

normally bacteria is a good thing(some of the bacteria in a marine aquarium breaks down the garbage and detritus), and a uv would only kill good stuff, but if it looks like critters, a uv could kill them(pods), and a uv probably would help, ifiti is algae(like calupera) reproducing, it could also be suspended calcium or an ammonia prob or somethingthat a uv would not help
but if prob is not something live, a uv would be a waste, and IMO, uv's are not a good thing to have anyway, they kill way too much stuff in the water, including the things you want to have

Check parameters. This will tell you alot.
Do you have lots of LR and a Wet/Dry? Check Nitrates and Nitrites.
Clean filters and change media.
