Can anyone help? Our tank is almost milky looking. We put in some tank clarifier and it doesn't seem to help. Our tank info is at the bottom. Thanks!!!

we did a water test also and everything seems to be within specs. Also did a partial water chage (15 gallons) last night. Forgot to say that the first time.

How long has the tank been set up? Is there any odor to the water? Are you adding chemicals (calcium, etc.) If there is no odor, it is most likely a bacterial or algal bloom. If you are adding chemical supplements, one of those may be causing the problem. If that is the case, it should clear in a day or two.

It sounds like something may have died and/or you have a bacterial bloom. You need to do a large (50%) water change, don't add anymore tank supplements/clarifier etc... Those are band aids your problem is somewhere in the filtration. Monitor your water quality and take inventory of your animals. Also look for any white slimy stuff on your live rock. You didn't say how long your tank has been up, but you may have new tank syndrome. Is all your equipment working properly.Adding an ozone machine (through your protein skimmer) will be very helpful. Make sure you don't have any yo-yo's in your water chemistry (with the large water changes) it will hurt your animals. Remember the easiest way to maintain good water quality is to do 10% water changes weekly. Small frequent water changes are healthier than large infrequent ones. Only do the large water change in cases of emergency, like now!
Pray for clear water!
