Cloudy Water

Need some help!! I have 55g tank, with 40lbs live rock, 40lbs of live sand a coral, 1 yellow tail damsel, 1 domino damsel, 1 yellow tang. Seaclone 100 skimmer (which doesn't seem to work), Rena XP2 canister filter, and an Odyssea 4x65 compact flourescent.
I am having problems with cloudy water, not real cloudy, just not as clear as I would like. Any suggestions??
Also, any suggestions with a SeaClone 100 skimmer, that is producing way too many fine bubbles bank into my tank??
Thanks

I just bought the canister filter, It has what they call a "bio-carb" bag I believe inside. I was previously just running a Penguin 330, but switched. Any other suggestions?

id recommend more power than that for a 55. you should have at least 10-12 turn=over rate per hour. as far as the clone.... i have a 100 and i dump the cup full of crap once a week. how open is the air valve?

I can't open it that much because I get too many bubbles back into my tank, and right now if I adjust so that there is less bubbles, I just get clear water in the cup. Have you heard good or bad about the modifications, including reducing size of the riser tube or getting a new air valve??

how old is your tank?? what size is your clone. my air valve is turned to where it almost comes off and i have no bubbles coming back into the tank. check to see if your air line is crimped anywhere restricting it

Carbon always works for me. :jumping: Everytime i had cloudy water put in a fresh bag of carbon. in 30 minutes it clears up. I have a 70g FOWLR and looks fine with carbon. really clean and clear.

My tank is about 6 months old now. I have checked everything on the skimmer. It is a SeaClone 100, all parts look operational.
Thanks Exile for you response also.... I'm gonna try that.
