could definitly be a huge factor. how hard will it be to hook up a ball valve? maybe you can even split the return to have 2 return lines which will help out and give you a better flow pattern.

A ball valve would tame me 10 min to put in. I would snip the felixible tubing and use a barbed ball thread with metal clamps. It will also slow down the flow through my U.V. Sterlizer which is also good. But I am in a dilema because floating debris are suppose to be good and fast turn around is good to. How many times do you think I would be turning my tank over by doing that, using a mag 12 with the ball valve on a 90 gallon.

Jupoc911's idea about spliting the return would be recomended from my end as well, and I think you should add the flare nozel to both returns.
The turn over rate is dependent on the position of the ball in the valve~!

Floating debri is good. But NOT in sizes that are easily visible~!

i dont think it would significantly drop the flow. IF you are concerned with the flow you can just add 1 maxi jet to compnesate for it. As long as this isnt going to be an sps tank you should be fine with turning your tank over 10X at the minimum. My tank is turned over between 10-15 times. you actually get better polyp extensions from your softies like this. What head height are we looking at from the return? I dont think you need any metal clamps. Just get a slip ball valve from home depot. Make sure it is the one with the blue valve because the red ones are a pain to turn. Also what size piping are you using for the return pump. If it is a 1" you can reduce it down to a 3/4 inch which in turn will give you more pressure and a harder flow which may actually overate your pump. I drilled into my sump and used 1 1/2" bulkheads and reduced the piping to 3/4 inch. because of this I had to turn my ball valves down. IMO you definitly are having to much flow comming out of one nozzle.

How do I add the flare nozel? How does it connect? Would I have to do anything to the nozel rite now or should I just be able to add it maybe I have the wrong size.

The LFS told me to run my skimmer even though I am still cycling. It has been on for 3 hours now and the collection cup is almost full, but the stuff it is pulling out is white foam not that smelly balck nasty stuff I usually get. the tank is a tad clearer maybe it will help. What do you thing it is skimming in a fairly new tank since I restarted everything.

you need to adjust the setting on your collection cup. Are you getting all water?
