Cloves not opening up after adding to my tank

I bought some cloves on Wednesday and ever since then they have not opened up in my tank. I figured it would take a day or two to get acclimated but now its day five and I am a little concerned. Water paramenters are in check and I have 250w MH bulbs over the tank which should be plenty for cloves. Any ideas?

just relaying some info i was just told about cloves from my new lfs! cuz i was going to buy a small frag of them and he wouldnt sell them he said they were a new addition to the tank(and they werent fully opened up yet) he said they dont ship well and can take some time to acclimate to a new tank. he told me if i am still interested in them to stop back in a week or two. so i guess i would suggest to just hang in there and wait it out. as long as there not looking like they are die'ing there prolly just getting use to there new home.

They are half way up with medium flow. From what I read, they do not like high flow so I found a place half way up on the rock that is somewhat hidden from high flow.
This frag has been at the LFS for a long time. They actually fragged it from thier own display tank.

and even though they have been at the lfs for a while they are still in need of time to acclimate to your system there new home some corals take longer then others....

Yes they do take awhile...mine didn't fully open for nearly a month. I keep mine at the bottom of the tank on a rock, it seems happy enough, very slow to grow. I guess I am used to the Xenia and leather...

give it a few days. cloves can grow very fast once acclimated. i used to hv some until it took over my tank. i was able to get rid of it b4 it became contagious. from my experience, cloves dont need much light at all, but will grow faster with medium light and flow.

I have them and have had them for nearly 5 months, the LFS said they spread...
any idea why mine hasen't. Water quality is good, everything else is growing like crazy.

I read that the smaller species grow alot quicker and spread alot quicker than the larger, more 'pretty' species of cloves. Cant have beauty and speed with everything

Sorry for the late response loopy but I had to go out of town for a few days. I currently do not have any photos at this time but to be honest there isnt much to see. The cloves have still not opened up and actually appear to be shrinking and dying off. Thats a bummer if they dont snap out of it because everything seems to be in check. I even compared the salinity of my tank vs that of the lfs when I purchased them to make sure that wouldnt be an issue.
