I got in my second order today and am pretty freaken mad. The fish died from cold water (50-60 degrees) The shipping was 50 dollars and the UPS man just set the package down without ringing or letting us know it had arrived. Two hours or so later my mom noticed it sitting outside and told me right away. I knew things wouldn't be good and sure enough my poor little clown was gone :( On the bright side though, my fighting conch, margarita snail, and emerald crab all arrived ok. I also got some live sand to seed my other stuff which seems pretty good. Im going to call tommorow as it was too late today to see if I can get a refund. Just had too vent a little. Dumb UPS man.

Where did you buy the fish from? Surely it wasn't this website since they ship Fedex for free. Also, when you order from here, the fish are shipped with heat packs so you can be sure that your fish will not freeze. And if you are not there, they would never just leave the fish outside!!!
I'm sorry that you lost your fish, but live and learn. Next time you order online, I would buy from this website. They are very dependable and have given me no problems whatsoever!

did the box have a sticker on it saying livestock? when i got my order from swf.com from fed ex it had a sticker saying livestock on it and my fed ex driver made us the first stop. i would complain to ups about it because technically they are not supposed to do that without you a confirmation which means they attempted once you weren't home and said its ok to leave without a answer at the door. hth

There was not a live-stock sticker but a small sticker that said perishable. I guess that counts but I still think that the UPS guys must not care too much. I would order from this web-site, but I just can't get up to 75 bucks. Its a nano-tank so I can't put to much in it. I guess if I got some corals I could get to 75 but I do not think I am ready.

That's stupid, what kind of person puts perishable on a box containing any living creature? Perishable to 98% of the U.S. population means "meat" or "vegetables" or some other kind of food that shouldn't be left in the HEAT. Of course the UPS driver left it outside, he thought that it would be a good temperature to leave your severely expensive cheese on the porch. If I was you I wouldn't worry about the UPS guy, I would ream the people you ordered from up an down until they got on their knees on your porch and kissed your shoes.

Welcome to ups. this is the reason I always request US postal service shipping to my po box. that way it is in an air conditioned building, I can pick it up 24/r plus the post office is open more hours and on saturday to 1 PM.
Additionally, I had the local UPS deliver a book to another robert beasley in huntsville. I am unlisted in the phone book and they found a robert beasley and delivered it to him. Even more shocking was that management insisted they had done the correct thing and had not obligation to call the shipper to determine if the robert beasley at the other address was the correct recepient.

I believe the shipping at SWF.com is only $30 if you do not have a $75 order. It's still cheaper than the $50 shipping and the packaging SWF.com uses is great.

By the way, I had my order held at the FedEx office in my area so It wouldn't be on the truck all day.

Are you sure it was in the heated/cooled "office"...
Around here it's just a cold storage "warehouse" for shipping and receiving...with the big garage doors open most of the day for trucks to load and unload...

Just got another order from SWF.com
Their packaging is the best I have seen.
Held at fedex, pickup at noon, reason to take half day off work

$75 ?
I wanted 2 cleaner shrimp, $36
4 conches, 'bout $25
need more feather dusters!! $15
Than makes $75 no problem
But wait, while I am here give me .....
2 days later my $150 order arives.
Packaged well of course

Probably not heated, but they arrived @ 9am and I picked them up @ 10am. Good excuse for a day off work. The heat packs did there job.

Too late now, but for others reading. Sometimes if people can't get enough items for the $75 they will ask if others in the area need to order anything then they will pool their order to get over $75.

Hi, I would call the company as I thought that all livestock was delivered with a signature required. If you were home and they did not bother to ring the bell to get your signature, or you were not home, they were suppose to take it back to the station and keep it there. I would contact the livestock company and the delivery service to see if they are liable for damages. Lesley
