I have 4 true Percs and the biggest one is starting to turn black on top, Is this normal or is she coming down with some type of infection? I've had them for about 2 weeks now.

I would remove 2 if I was you. The larger one is maturing & becoming a female. You will have a huge fight soon until only a pair remains unless you tank is very large.

hey Blueface
I have a 135G tank so I think that would be plenty. right now the femal that is changing colors is the only one hosting my BTA the other 3 still hang out near the top of the overflows. I hope one of them mates with her.

no doubt that they will most likely pair up however when you say mate.. you mean lay eggs etc.. Alot of work and care goes into raising clownfish fry.. Like the other member said.. I'd get rid of two of the clowns though.. even though you have a fairly large tank.. I dont know that it will be large enough for them to pair up and be happy.. not saying its impossible.. but I'd say its very unlikely.. 2 will most likly end up being killed.

What kind of work is needed for clown fry?
Also, I would scoop the other 2, move them on the opposite side of the tank. If you have a hostable coral or another anomone there, they will mostly keep to themselves. I'm not sure how good it would be to have 2 pairs of clowns. But, it must be better than 1 pair and 2 outcasts...
