My clown has constipation since it [constipation] is about 1 inches long. I have 5 different kinds of food and he only eats brine for whatever reason.
I feed F1 & F2 (pellets-small), mysis shrimp (frozen) , brine frozen, prime reef frozenand OSI marine flakes. All different each day. Also soak for 15 to 20 with garlic and chemi vitamins.
So how to I get rid of this constipation on this little guy?
I have heard something about epsom salts but do not know the process .
Any help? No clue on what to do here.

I would include some algae in his diet. It prevents the incidence of intestinal blockage. This is supposed to be a preventive measure. So I'm not sure whether it'll work or not. I feed all of my fishes marine algae, including many large carnivores. I think all of them benefit from some kind of greenery in their diets.

very true. there is a lot of algae on rock, walls etc for him and the seaweed selects that are for the tang. Plus the F2 would help...if he ate it.
So far at 8:11 PM EST , he is just by the top of the water going real slow. He keeps going to the surface, maybe to eat but nothing is there.
No clue....water all test fine and he looks fine....I know he keeps going by the cleaner shrimp....

How long has your clownfish had "constipation"? Actually, it came across my mind that the same thing happened to me a long time ago, when I first stepped into the world of saltwater. My first fish was a clownfish, and one day it kept rising to the surface no matter how hard he tried to go to the bottom. I thought he had a gas bladder damage. But, two days later he was just fine. I think so-called constipation occurs when you overfeed your clownfish. It's just my speculation, btw. It happened a few more times, and it's somehow linked to overfeeding. Anyway, wait for a few more days and let us know how he's doing.

He has only had this for about 4 days. So I only feed once per day maybe go back to every other day?????
Here is what I feed them:
Mon: Formula 2 pellets and vita-chem. vitamins
Tuesday: Mysis shrimp and Liguid garlic and vita-chem. vitamins
Wed: Formula 1 pellets and vita-chem. vitamins
Thursday: OSI flake with vita-chem. vitamins
Fri: Frozen Brine and vita-chem. vitamins
Sat: Formula 2 pellets and vita-chem. vitamins
Sun: Formula 1 pellets and vita-chem. Vitamins
Everyday there is a lot of green algae on the back walls and the 50 lbs of LR. Also they are millions of pods on the glass and DSB. Oh, I use RO/DI water now (over 1 week now). Lastly for my yellow tang, I put a 1.5”X1.5” piece of Ocean Nutrition Green Seaweed select on a rock and put in the water. I do this in the AM and PM since he should have plenty with all the other stuff in the tank.
So what am I doing wrong? Too often, incorrect food?
