Clown fairy wrasse anyone??

Hi,
About a week and a half ago, I finally put in my first fish (a flame angel). I have been slowly putting together my wish list for what else I want to eventually put in and stumbled upon a picture of a clown fairy wrasse. Does anyone have one? How is it? Easy to keep? Gets along with others? Should I add it to my list??

Below is what I am thinking for the tank (55 reef), possibly in this order. Any friendly criticism or ideas welcome:
flame angel
clown fairy wrasse????
strawberry basslet
four wheel drive blenny
marroon clown

The wrasse are my favorite fish family and the choice seems endless. If you google "wrasse" you will find some spectacular indexes. However, finding the fish you have your heart set on for sale, is the trick.
You have to decide personal taste on which wrasse, they are all so different.
My own personal pick is what SWF.com refers to as a Pennant Fairy. Beautiful, friendly, easy fish.

Additionally, be sure to research carefully the needs of each type. Some require sand to sleep in, so won't be okay with a CC substrate.

most require sand and they are all (i think) exceptionally good jumpers so be sure to secure your tank. i just lost my oldest fish, 1.5 year old yellow wrasse out the top of my tank, over the 3 " lip and out the one side that would allow him 'freedom' :,(

I hear a lot about wrasse jumping, lately, but don't have that experience and haven't noticed a tendency in mine. They stick close to the sand and in the rock-work..I also have a 55.
There are some 600 different kind of wrasse (2nd largest family, next to the gobys). Pretty fair selection. Just be picky and research until you find a profile that fits what your tank can offer.

Yes there is a great selection of wrasses-many many different types--they are very pretty fish-do research before getting one-I made that mistake-some wrasses cannot be kept with snails, crabs, shrimp-they will definitely eat them!! I have 3- and they all eat crustaceans...and I have to feed heavy to make sure my other fish get what they need-and we need to do frequent water changes..if I could I would have another tank just for wrasses-I love my wrasses so I have acccommodated them! But I can't have anymore shrimpys!!
Anyway just check them out first-lfs probbaly will not tell you all!! Some pics of my wrasses....yes and some do bury in the sand- my redcoriswrasse and my white wrasse bury themslves in the sand at night-my birdnose snuggles behind a rock to sleep. So they do need a good sand bed to sleep in......you can see sand on my red wrasse......

Thankyou--they seem to do fine together-they do not bother each other or my other fish-so far! But my snails, crabs,and shrimpys have to be very watchfull!! Actually right now I do not have any shrimp-and my crabs hide out until dark! I do worry about my smaller fish-my blennies,my firefish and even my chromies(sp?)-thats why I feed alot!Wrasses are big big eaters!! But my wrasses do not bother each other at all and my powder tang is still king of the tank! And hes half the size of my bird wrasse! And they do not bother my corals-of which I only have a few. But my Bird could eat whatever he wants if he wanted to!! :happyfish :happyfish

What wrasses do you have?

The first was my pennant fairy, or social wrasse. I believe he was victim to an anemone I USED to have. I wish I could find another.
The second fish I have two of, one in each tank, I like them so much! They sleep buried in the sand and when I turn the lights up, they stick just their heads out for a while..pretty odd to see.
Great fish. I can't get a positive name for them, LFS said cigar wrasse, but no search results.

I love your seahorse...... :happyfish Its really hard to id wrasses--there are so many different kinds!

How long has your tank been up? I'm a bit nervous about adding the Flame as your first fish... Does she have enough to graze on?

IMO, most of the fairy wrasses are an excellent addition to a reef. I have a yellow finned fairy wrasse. She is gorgeous and peaceful. Have had it for over 2 years without problem....
