Clown Fish...anemone/coral reccomendation

I am in the process of some tank work at the moment but in a couple weeks would like to add a clown fish and have decided on a true percula, possibly a mated pair. i currently have a 4 stripped damsel and a mandarin dragonete. the damsel has laid ground to most of the tank and have a feeling he will be aggressive towards others and since he was just a starter fish for my tank, have decided to give him back to my LFS.
Anyways, i want to make my future clown as happy as possible and was wondering if anyone could suggest a small anemone or coral that he could make home. I have a 24g nano and therefore not a whole lot of room but i am willing to accommodate him.
any suggestions???

first did you take back the damsel?
second your tank is how old? if its like a month or 2 then return the mandarin. it will starv to death and we dont want that.
third an anemone will be good but later like 6 months after the tank has been established. any LPS coral will be good. like goniopora, alvapora, frogspawn, hammer and such

carpet anemone would be good. I would wait a little while to get the carpet so that your tank is right. make sure you feed your goby some brine shrimp. depending on the size clowns you get your damsel should be fine. unless your clown is smaller then the damsel then you will have some problems. your clowns are not going to take no crap from a damsel.

Be careful getting an anemone in that size of a tank. Im not saying you cant have one Im telling you this because my gbta has grown from the size of my fist to bigger than a volleyball in just about 5 months. Now I have zoa, sps, and lps scattered all over my tank trying to save them from the gbta. He hasnt moved yet either. If that happens Im screwed. Good luck.

no the damsel is still in the tank but will be removed before i add the clowns.
tank is about 4mths old and the mandarin is the first guy i got...had a scare once but revived him and i pay an absurd amount of attention to him and keep him happy.
thx for the help SWFMB

u will need to upgrade ur lighting on ur nano b4 getting an anemone, assuming ur nano came with power compact. wait at least 4-5 months b4 adding an anemone. i personally like the bubble tip.

do you buy pods to seed the tank?

yea i do...i buy a bottle of tigger pods from my LFS every couple of weeks. i add phyto feast directly to the bottle with a couple of small rocks and keep them in my fridge for a couple days and they go crazy. then i just dump the bottle in to keep my mandarin happy...its expensive but this guy is the reason i switched to saltwater so he is definetly worth it!!!
the refugium that will go into the back compartment of the tank in a couple days will hopefully help the cost of keeping my guy alive
