Clown fish & Anemone

I purchased a 75 gallon tank from a friend. It was complete with live rock, fish, and invertebrates. One fish is a Tomato Clownfish, and I have a Long-tenacled Anemone. They have shown no interest in one another (my friend said they weren't host anemone) until tonight. The clownfish is digging around and swimming inside the tenacles. I have had the tank for about 5 months. What should I expect next?
Also, can anyone recommend any good books of reef tanks?

ok your friend was wrong, a long tentacle anemone is a host. your clown will probably be seen playing in it almost all the time. and as far as books i know the book called aquarium corals, (can't remember the author right now) is a great book. I personally own that one and the marine fishes book. both have alot of valuable info. i'm not really the best at learning the authors names.

I also had a long tentacle anenome, but he never played host for my clown...My clown would hang around, and wanted to go in, but never did. I then added a carpet anenome and within days the clown fish was playing, eating, sleeping and just about everything else on the carpet.
I guess my first anenome just didn't like to play host...

long tentacles are supposed to be a host. most the time if a clown will not go in it, it's because it's not familiar with that certain anemone. dwarfs, what type of fish did the anemone eat and are you sure it was a long tentacle, some people confuse a long tentacle for a condylactus. and if your fish was not a clown then i'm not surprised that the anemone ate it because the reason clowns are able to play in the anemones is they have an immunity to the sting the anemone lets out so if another fish gets by it and is not immune to the sting it definitely can be fatal.
