Clown fish are finally here

Well maybe not at my house yet but they came into the LFS saturday. I was told that they are pretty small and are not the maited pair i was hoping for.:( Right now i have a royal gramma, some sorta goby, and a blue fin damsil. Do you think that the blue fin will harm the clowns? The blue fin is about full grown.

Well from I know from experience, when you add clownfish it either seems that your clownfish are being picked on or the damsel is the victim. As for a mated pair, as long as they are still small there is a chance that the more larger and dominant one will change --- and become the female. So usually if you get a pair one usually becomes the female because Clowns are hermaphodites.
BTW, what kind of Clowns were you looking into?
I own a pair of False Percula Clowns.

Also, I don't not know if this is unusual but this bully thing is usually a few squabbles in territory. But if you have a large enough tank it shouldn't make a difference.

It depends on how the damsel is acting, what I usually do is see if it works out, If it doesn't (which has happened) I normally bring the damsel back to the store.

Thanks every one. I decided to take the damsil out and give it to my friend. He has a 150 gal. The damsil was beating up one the bag the clowns were in and i did not want to take chances. The clowns were also smaller than i was told, they said about 2 inches over the phone, they were less than one inch.

Well that's good about getting rid of the damsels, I have had 50/50 chance with them. Best of luck with your clowns I hope they make a pair!:)
