ive had my 72 gallon running for about 3 months and had two perculas as my first 2 fish for about a month and yesterday i found one dead and the other one does not look that good either. they both had somewhat of a white tint on them which taht they never had before and both were swimming in a very hyperactive way. i dont think they have ich because there are no white dots on them. does any one have any ideas as far what could have happened to them? during they first couple weeks they seemed great so it was almost an alll of a sudden situation.

Sounds like you never cycled it. If you did then your levels are way off. You need more details like LR and how much and everything else you can include.

Depends on what he did to cycle, he said he had the tank running for two months before purchase, unless you had no LR or did nothing to start the cycle, then I agree, you probably needed to cycle.
I'm new to the hobby so i have no idea if it could be disease...
Good luck!

if you did cycle, then it could be a disease. check into the disease and treatment section because you will probably have to keep your tank fishless for a while

reading your other posts, it doesnt sound like your tank ever cycled, but that you were using API test kits which have been known to give false reading of .25 ammonia.
what happened to your chromis?

I was thinking that as well. Did you notice white or a greyish stringy substance on them? How long ago did you buy the clowns?
