OK, so I bought a pair of Clarkii clown fish today and the anemone that was in the tank with them. During acclimating process and when they were first introduced into the tank, they were like peanut butter and jelly. Wouldn't swim more than an inch or two away from each other. Then they found the Anemone in the tank. The larger one totally took it over and does not let the smaller clown near it or them. Whats going on here? I thought they are a pair?
Well you didn't provide that much details, not to mention, things get lost. Shame on you for not bumping it back up if you wanted a response quicker. You posted at a busier time of night on the board, it easily could have been missed.
Anyways, very often my female does not allow the male INTO the anemone, but she doesn't usually chase him away until they are about to mate, then she banishes him to the wall. She may be making him prove himself again.....
