Has anyone heard of a clown fish taking food and putting it on the tips of the anemones tentacle? Im just curious if thats common or not because I saw it in the pet store, and the guy working there seemed suprised.

Yes that is acommon thing. The clown uses the anemone for protection and a home and keeps it fed.Not always, but likely yes.

That is very natrual for a clown fish to do that. The anenome provides the clown fish with a safe home and in return the clown fish feeds the anenome. Its all part of there bond.
