clown-fishes swimming wierd!

i have two black and white clowns and since i had added them to my tank about 2 months ago , they have been swimming at the surface near the heater only, i tested the water all seem to fine& they eat fine aswell , & was wondering why is this? thank you for yur help:)

Is it possible they are hosting the heater??? Mine host filter tubes...LOL
 
I would think that if there was an issue with the clowns, after 2 months something more would have shown up

yeah after a while thats what i started thinking that they were hosting it, just wanted to make sure nothing was wrong., today i actually added to my tank a diamond goby &a coral banded shrimp and the diamond goby hes been hiding most of the day , do they usually do this (im scared somethings wrong
)

okay good, as of now i have the 2 blk&white clowns, 1diamond goby,4 blue leg harmit, 10 turbo snails, and 1 coral banded shrimp
i would definitly like my center piece fish to be a flame angel but dont know what other colorful fish to add , my tank is 40g

Look at some wrasses...there are some beauties out there, and if you have no corals, you can look at the non-reef safe ones too

okay ill definitly look into them, again how many fish could i have in a 40g tank?

Your Clowns are probably afraid of that Banded Coral Shrimp. I had the same problem with my Clowns staying at the top by the heater after lights out. I removed the Shrimp and problem solved. The Banded Coral Shrimp is a predator from a different Ocean.

It all depends on the fish you want. WIth what you currently have, (2x clowns, diamond goby), IMO, you could get 3-4 smaller fish like wrass, or basslet ect. Jut make sure before you buy anything, you reaserch it and make sure its compatable with your fish/tank and you can meet its requirments.

If they go there after the lights turn off, there most likely hosting the heater, not hiding from the shrimp.

I had a Black Clownfish with White stripes about a year ago,It would stay on top of the power head all day! I would not worry as long as there eating and stuff.
