yup, they are fine in a ten gallon. IMO they are one of the lowest bio load fish you can have. They won't get very big or eat a whole lot. Clown gobies are also an entertaining fish, they like to perch on soft corals or live rock and swoop out to get food.

How many could i have at the max.?
The number is going to vary from person to person. Personally I don't try and put more than two smallfish in a ten gallon. But since clown gobies are very small and docile you could probably get away with three. Just depends on what else you plan on keeping in there as well.
