i have wanted my clown to host in something for the longest time and i have come up with this: do you guys thing it is possible that my clown will not host because he doesn't feel threatened by anything in the tank? he is alone in the tank and he most not feel threaten by anything. do you guys think this is good rational thinking?

Clowns living in anemones is not solely caused by it feeling threatened by other inhabitants in the tank. Even when there's no threat in the tank if a clown is wild caught then it will like to have an anemone to live in. However, as you might know already, there are so many tank raised fish, especially clownfish being sold today. These clowns don't have the dependency towards anemones like the wild caught ones. So long story short, if your clown doesn't want a host, whatever anemones or corals you get, it won't host in it. Believe me, I know.
