i have a brown carpet and by the 2nd day i had put it in there my clown was all over it. he would go up to it and bury his face in it and kind of suck on the tenticals (no harm to the anemone) but he has yet to go into it yet......do any of you have a say in what hes doing by sucking on them? either getting an immunity or just getting used to it?

when i had a carpet my clowns used to do the same thing, kinda jam their face in it and swim real hard. eventually they calmed down a bit and started just rubbing against it, but every now and then they would go back to ramming it.
don't have a clue as to why but they really loved it.
sorry i couldnt be of more help.

He was probably just getting used to the "buzz":D Now he's addicted and will stay that way until the anenome eats him......:(
Not trying to be harsh but carpets eat fish, sooner or later IME

The clown is showing the anemone that it is in its presence. It lets the anemone know that the clown is going to be hosting in it.
FWIW,
I wouldn't want the clown to host in it so soon. It can be quite stressing to add an anemone, and immediatly have a clown going through it. I wouild rather wait 3 weeks for the anemone to settle in then get the clowns, rather than getting the clowns in from the start. Good luck!
