clown question

Last night one of my perc clowns committed suicide

. I would like to get another one, but not sure if the new one will pair up woth the old one? Or sould I let him be a loner?

Ive had pairs before. I like just one. I have had any thing from fancy ocellaris mixed with black ocellaris, to just your basic combo. They would do fine for awhile but then they would nip at each other, then the other would have a seizure. It was quite funny. Neways so after having many pairs in different tanks i decided to go with just one in my tank and i like it better.... IMO

ive had pairs and ive had singles and i personally like pair interaction better. get one that is smaller than the one you already have and you should be fine.
edit// make sure it is the same type of clown.

Just make sure you add a smaller one. The existing clown will assert dominance on the new one. So don't panic if there is some aggression and nipping for a few days, but it should settle down once they get things worked out. It especially happens at feeding time. Add the new one with the lights off.
